What is PKAA
Serving Korean Americans on the Virginia Peninsula Since 1975
The Peninsula Korean American Association (PKAA) is a vital and inclusive organization dedicated to serving the Korean American community across Virginia’s Peninsula region, including Newport News, Hampton, York County, Williamsburg, and surrounding areas.
Founded in 1975, PKAA has faithfully supported the growth, integration, and cultural expression of Korean Americans for nearly five decades. With a strong commitment to community service, advocacy, and cultural preservation, PKAA provides a voice and a home for thousands of Korean Americans in the region.
The association fosters a deep connection between Korean heritage and American society by organizing cultural festivals, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives. PKAA also serves as a bridge between generations—helping youth maintain their cultural identity while fully participating in American life, and supporting elders through language assistance, social events, and vital resources.
PKAA is proud to collaborate with local institutions, schools, and civic organizations to strengthen the presence and influence of Korean Americans in public life. Through its leadership, programs, and community spirit, PKAA nurtures unity, celebrates diversity, and continues to build a future rooted in cultural pride and shared prosperity.
With dedication, heart, and a vision for tomorrow, the Peninsula Korean American Association stands as a symbol of resilience, heritage, and hope on Virginia’s Peninsula.
